ABOUT JAMES "JAYE" T. JONES JR.
James “Jaye” T. Jones, Jr. is an attorney and owner of James T. Jones, Jr., PC, a law firm located in Thomson, Georgia. Jaye brings over two decades of legal expertise and a deep-rooted passion for public service to the community. He is a graduate of Mercer University’s School of Law and has navigated the complexities of general law practice, currently balancing the roles of Associate Magistrate Judge in McDuffie County and Juvenile Court Judge for the Toombs Judicial Circuit. His dedication extends beyond the courtroom. He is a leader within legal communities, having presided as President of the Georgia EMC Counsel Association and served as District Representative in the Council of Juvenile Court Judges. His commitment to his community resonates in his leadership roles with the Thomson Rotary Club, the United Way of McDuffie and Warren Counties, and Partners for Success, and his previous service as a Councilmember for the City of Thomson. He is a dedicated public servant, skilled attorney, and passionate advocate for justice.
Jaye is a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and currently lives in Dearing with his wife, Debbie, and daughters Lindsey, Anna, and Ashley. They are members of First Baptist Church in Thomson.
WHY I'M RUNNING
I am stepping forward to serve my community with the experience, integrity, and dedication it deserves. For over 22 years, I have practiced law in diverse areas like civil, criminal, and domestic law. As Juvenile Court Judge for the Toombs Judicial Circuit and an Associate Magistrate Court Judge in McDuffie County, I have seen firsthand the impact of fair and just rulings on people’s lives. I understand the challenges facing the Toombs Judicial Circuit and am committed to:
